Children of the Grave

This was in interesting show.  It was a bit slow and corny in parts but if the evidence they did show was true evidence it was pretty impressive.  If you have some extra time take a look at it.

Ghost Hunters Haunted Asylum Weston State Hospital

Filed under: Paranormal Television — Hawk @ 12:14 am

It’s been a while since I’ve written about Ghost Hunters.   Watching the Weston State Hospital episode tonight there was alot of excitement on part of the Ghost hunters team, but when it came down to evidence just a handful of audio clips.  (note these are audio clips because almost all were heard while they were recording, in other words it’s not electronic voice phenomenon).

Evidence Review

  •      1  non-EVP audio clip (laughing) Class C
  •      1  non-EVP audio clip (strange noise “go home?”) Class C
  •      1  non-EVP audio clip (strange noise, snap.. ) Class D
  •      1  non-EVP audio clip (strange noise) Class D
  •      1 unknown (door sound)
  •      1 unknown breath sound

Apart from the female laughing audio-clip there wasn’t much more than witness accounts. However Ghost hunters tend to believe that the place has intelligent haunting and is haunted.  Quantitatively and   qualitatively  I would have to disagree.    They have a decent amount of audio clips and witness accounts but in the end that is all they have, and in the past that isn’t always enough to deem a place “haunted”.

Personally I’ve been in active (with patients) and inactive (without patients, abandoned) Asylums and over all they are creepy places.  This one in particular is over 500,000 sq/ft.  That is one huge place, if there was a human in there it would be hard to find with only 8 people, let alone paranormal phenomena.  You also add in the fact that you are complete in darkness.   Seems to me the odds were stocked against the ghost hunter’s team to find anything.

Instead they came out with a cornucopia of crappy evidence, certainly suspect.   I would love to believe that they are finding evidence and proof but there is nothing in this episode that would allow me to believe any evidence they retrieved, even if I looked past the Rotor Rooter commercial in the beginning of every show.

People all I ask is take a second look at these shows and their motives.   If you can put in your mind a reason that doesn’t involve money and show me that there hasn’t been tampering or prove that fact then I might be able to restore faith, until then I’m skeptical.

Ghost Hunters “The Fear Cage” 2008

Taps and Ghost Hunters is still good to watch for everyone but myself.  The more I watch these shows and have investigated myself I have built such a huge archive easily explained evidence.    One of the major benefits of also running Paranormal Puzzles is that I’m also very familiar with  how to build hoaxes.     This most recent episode has put a splinter in my mind that I can’t shake.

For a while I have been staring at the “Fiction” portion of the Sci Fi Channel and the Ghost Hunters Television Program.   The season premeir aired with footage of a undeniable thermal evidence of a civil war apparition right where everyone in the invesigation said there would be one.    Tonight we see what looks like a photo frame get turned and pulled back.   Not to mention tons of EVPs and other evidence.  A virtual cornicopia of evidence.

SciFi Channel has been struggling for a while as a cable access channel and has ratings to make.  I’m sure that there is a strong contract agreement between Taps and SciFi.  There is serious potentional for “Fiction” to rear it’s ugly little head when ratings are down.

As for this episode of the fear cage I felt it was seemed lacking content.  I think the cast is either tired or we have become accustom to them and want something better.   The Ghost Hunters International crew isn’t it either.   There is certainly still room in this industry for a group to come in and improve it, I just don’t know if it will be through another television series or something new unexplored medium.   As for me I will be here, writing your reviews.  Hawk out-

Paranormal State Knickerbocker - Ryan Buell

Filed under: Paranormal Television — Hawk @ 12:41 am

Paranormal state really needs to figure out what it’s going to be. The most recent episode is evident that there is a conflict between religious faith in the belief of the paranormal and science and research.

Destination Truth Death Worm Gobbi Joshua Gates

Filed under: Paranormal Television — Hawk @ 1:29 am

Caught the second half of Destination Truth tonight, was enough to be interesting between 10:30 pm and 11pm. I like Josh’s approach the show overall is good. I’m just not interested in the content. I think if they took the crew from DT and perhaps Robb D and Brian from GHI we might have a good GHI season two.

So here is The Hawk’s pick for fixing the paranormal second rate shows. The team of Destination Truth and Robb Demarest and Brian, and perhaps Kris from the current run of Ghost Hunters. Jason and Kris should be split up.

The Hawk Ghost Hunter’s Season 2 Cast List

  • Robb Demarest (Original GHI cast)
  • Kris Williams (Female replacement original Ghost Hunter)
  • Brian Harnois (Original Ghost Hunters, Original GHI Cast)
  • Joshua Gates (Destination Truth)
  • Ted Acworth (UFO Hunters)

Ghost Hunters Burlington County Prison Norwich Connecticut

Filed under: Paranormal Television — Hawk @ 12:09 am

After the Ghost Hunters season premier I had a big question come in my mind about the “fiction” in the name of SciFi Channel. This is actually a wonderful thing because that means I have no explanation or recourse. However it came to mine that perhaps SciFi Channel could go on record before Ghost Hunters says that something to the effect of “All materials presented during TAPS investigation is presented unaltered, modify, cut, or filtered form.” I think this would go a long way to preserve in people’s mind their credibility. I know for me it would.

Paranormal State, out-of-touch

Filed under: Paranormal Television — Hawk @ 11:46 pm

I’m lost when it has come to the past two episodes of Paranormal State.   The last one with the candle ceremony was although fun to do with your friends really was kinda strange if your a skeptic.

The skeptic troll that is on my shoulder was screaming at me.  I just was expecting something interesting from Ryan Buell about his haunting. His great Reveal….    I guess I have funny rules about what to believe and what not to but grinning trolls aren’t on my menu.   Great Delivery though, good acting Ryan.

Besides that this show was getting a little stale, I think A&E either sensed that and have gone to a switch in format the past few times in hopes of grabbing another audience.   Ah well I have feeling this will run a Most Haunted death.  Play probably a season, maybe two more and then fizzle out.

The youth of the group sorta had a built in audience with Penn State, and the group as well has a solid base.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see the group possibly continue but the show might go away.

Divas of darkness update

Filed under: Paranormal Television — Hawk @ 11:37 pm

Just was looking around today and found that the divasofdarkness.com/net looks available or soon will be for sale. I would wonder what this means. Is Sci-Fi Channel going to back Ghost Hunter’s International again? If I know greedy corporations that don’t care about second rate ratings, they will milk it for at least four seasons, I mean come on how long did Farscape run? (click here to continue)

GHI “Frakenstein’s Castle” Josh Gates Season Finale

Filed under: Paranormal Television — Hawk @ 2:07 am

New “Frakenstein’s Castle” Josh Gates “Destination Truth” helps the team investigate a castle in Germany (Reality) as stated by comcast.

Evidences

EVPs 2 Forgien languages *(unclassified)

Pennies to Dollar Events (read as Personal Experiences) A bunch, including door knob jingle

1 Ultrasonic sound (not reported to client)

Once again the GHI team gets the opportunity to investigate another great site, Frakenstien’s Castle. The team overall this episode seemed to try very hard (or the film crew) to appear to be serious and not come off as corny. Since this was suppose to be Season Finale they also brought Josh Gates along. (click here to continue)
