All right time to geek out a bit here. So what we are attempting to do is gather information about things that go bump in the night. Paranormal is actually an umbrella category but we will use it for simple unexplained phenonmenon aka ghosts.

On the graph on the left there in yellowish there is a area that we tend to focus on when investigating. We could be looking into x rays and gamma rays but measuring such high intensity waves requires highly specialized equipment, I don’t believe there is a field adaptation yet.

Starting right around Ultraviolet Radiation we come into the first visualization area of wavelengths. Specialized cameras can detect almost all of these wavelengths. Portland Paranormal Currently on Investigates with Infrared and visible light. Eventually we would like Thermal but it’s cost prohibitied.

Finally near the much larger (simpler) wave forms we have the sound. Using various audio recording equipment you can easily cover this in the field.

Now let’s go a bit into theory of manifestation. When I’ve gone and done investigations I have found that you can go to a place and catch nothing on video or anything but some how you catch something on audio. Why? I believe it’s going back to the energy premise of being. The fact being that something needs to draw energy from somewhere to manifest and in doing so the least amount of exertion of the drawn energy would be in radio waves. The are simple and easy to create.

As you move closer up the spectrum you move up in the amount of energy, until you get visible light. Visible light requires a lot of energy and thus we don’t get as much on the visible light as we do with audio. This is also interesting because a visible representation actually communicates less then a audible communication.

Bottom line if you don’t have a camcorder start with listening to the audio!

Hello all,

We spent the past two weeks moving the site over to more reliable servers that will help portland paranormal reach more people. We are working hard to collect equipment and thanks to a little bit of good luck and ebay we have gotton our hands on some camcorders with infrared capability. We are also still on the hunt but it’s looking like this next investigation is going to have some great technology to capture what we are seeing.

Once again donations of money, equipment, time are always appreciated.

As you can tell we changed the look and feel of the Portland Paranormal. The old site was getting hard to read and cluttered fast. We revamped the Paranormal Gallery and home pages. We added a few ads, feel free to click one. We might earn enough for a hamburger someday. Still in search of paranormal equipment, in particular 0 LUX capable equipment, something with infrared enhancements.
