I still can’t agree with the way that they do their investigations but to me they do seem serious. I think the fact that they do all the history and pre-work does help but they should do non-interfering research. Seperation of investigators and research is crucial and even more so when using a Psychic. I won’t get over the fact they keep using Lorraine Warren from the Amityville Horror which was a well known fraud.

However there is something charming about the show. It has a very good feeling and the religious undertones aren’t horribly in your face. It also appears that the people they help geniunely feel better. However for you die hard skeptics and evidence seekers this isn’t for you, it’s more in league with Most Haunted.

In the latest episode School House Haunting I wasn’t so impressed, it seems that the video editing group has alot of fun amplifying in the studio. For me I will never really ever see this as more then a mellow drama.

I was a little alarmed by how they kind of badgered the psychic in this episode and had Sergey do it. I think the fact the story changed was good enough. It was obvious to me before Sergey’s read that the Psychic was doing a method called a ‘cold read’. It was also obvious she was really bad at.

For those that are unaware most Psychics do this method well popularized by South Park called a cold read. You basically use very vague questions like ‘Has someone close past?’ by not mentioning close to who, and who is close I really haven’t said much but have lead you to answer something that will be very revealing, I can then work with that. Lorraine does it a lot if you watch. A true psychic won’t ask you questions, they will just tell you a statement and it will be true and verifiable (hopefully).

Later in the episode they are chasing down a tenant that use to live there. Katie. She seems like a nice enough woman but they reason the chased her down is because some breath that they never played again said her name. Katie recounted all these things like toliet seats being up, cupboards being open, etc. She then talked about her mom being bed ridden and having six kids. I have no idea, perhaps my place is haunted too. I have cupboards left open, doors open by themselves, refridgerator door opening. But then I realize I’m a busy person and I forget things, especially mundane things like doors and cupboards.

Overall this is interesting to watch as candy but not dandy like really evidence.
