We receive numerous requests to go on an investigation with us and request that we investigate their location. I would like to take some time to respond to all of you and write out some general guidelines I use.

Psychics Abound

If you message me requesting that you are able to join Portland paranormal and you tell me your a psychic medium I will more than likely not respond. Nothing against a psychic medium, but I’m still waiting for the one that can message me with some type of personal profound substantial truth, I would do for just what color my favorite fish is in my tank. kidding aside, I just don’t tend to believe people who must state what they are. Most people of talent don’t need to state their abilities it will be apparent.

It serves me well

If you past the first test, this is certainly the next hurdle. If you come to the site and you want to be taken on an investigation, do some work. There is a bunch of crappy photos in the gallery, a bunch of dumb articles plenty of opportunity. We put in hours of work outside of investigations to keep this paranormal machine going. It costs alot to purchase the equipment and costs alot of time to setup and run an investigation, so finish the rest of this thought.

Experts with no experience

These people just scare me. I’m not one to speak in depth of experience, but I’ve had a share of them. If you tell me you are hearing bumps in the night that you think are your dead relatives that lived in the house, or some other concoction of a story with no supportive evidence other than you presumptions, I will not respond. I don’t know what to say to you, sounds like you have it all figured out.

So now that I have the rant over here is some things that I look for when looking at member requests.

• Is there a solid foundation in reality? ( won’t be scared by seeing there own shadow, will investigate the sound of a scurrying rat, isn’t afraid of the dark.)
• Is there a healthy amount of skepticism? ( Is there first conclusion always ghost or paranormal?)
• Do they have drive? I really don’t care if it’s religious, scientific, amusement, whatever as long as I can tell you are going to work.

And that is basically it, I mean it seems like a small list but you would be surprised by the amount of people that don’t fall in. Further more this probably could also go for investigation.
